The Boys from Derby: "Curiosity Killed the Cat" by Pellowski and Zeck

Hey, hey, hey, Groove-ophiles! It's two, two, two Mike's in one short shocker! "Curiosity Killed the Cat" was written by Mike Pellowski and illoed by the marvelous Mike Zeck! Let's truck on back to July 1976, snatch The Many Ghosts of Dr. Graves #59 off the swingin' spinner rack, and let the fantasy begin!

  1. Another great from Charlton, thanks from a Charlton fan.

  2. I love Mike Zeck's artwork. One thing I prefer about his Charlton output to his later Marvel work is the much thicker lines that he used in his inking. It really made the artwork stand out, giving it more of a distinct style than the later work on Master of Kung Fu and Captain America. After a long absence, he appeared at several cons in Portland recently. Since he has pretty much retired now I don't think there will be any more, according to his rep.

  3. Love the Charlton but would love to see more of their Superheros. Especially Thunderbolt and the first BB.

As for the rest of ya, the purpose of this blog is to (re)introduce you to the great comics of the 1970s. If you like what you see, do what I do--go to a comics shop, bookstore, e-Bay or whatever and BUY YOUR OWN!
