Our Pal Sal: "When Wakes the Kraken!" by Thomas, S. Buscema, and Esposito

Hey, hey, hey, Groove-ophiles! Let's dive (ouch!) right into Sub-Mariner #27 (April 1970) by Roy Thomas, Our Pal Sal Buscema, and Joe (really Mike Esposito hiding from his DC editors) Gaudioso! Don't splash or horseplay on this beach, baby, or you'll find out what happens..."When Wakes the Kraken!"

  1. I loved Roy's & Sal's too short of stints. On the Sub-Mariner & the Avengers! I just wish Roiy hadn't killed off Toro & Red Raven back then. He should have a had a Invaders reunion in the Avengers for a while. Had Subby & the original Torch become Avengers then. Sal's best work to me & of course his Defenders inked by Klaus Janson & Tom Palmers inks on Nova too! Sal is way under appreciated! Sal Rocks!

As for the rest of ya, the purpose of this blog is to (re)introduce you to the great comics of the 1970s. If you like what you see, do what I do--go to a comics shop, bookstore, e-Bay or whatever and BUY YOUR OWN!
