  1. An absolute classic Bronze Age story, Moench and Gulacy were at the height of their powers during this 3-parter. Thanks for posting it!

  3. Y'know, I never read any MASTER OF KUNG FU comics as a kid, don't remember seeing them on the creaky spinner racks I haunted, so my introduction to this fabled mag has been right here on DIVERSIONS.
Man, did I overlook a cool comic! I've really enjoyed discovering it here whenever it's been showcased.
I am now officially a fan of MOKF.

  4. Cool! For some reason, many S.C. stories were presented in black and white in my country, so this is the first time I see this one in color. I must say it has its pros and cons. Pavane with the black birds was... dazzling in B.W. In both versions, Gulacy-Adkins are great.

  5. You would think a villain named "Velcro" would have stuck around. Yuck-yuck.

  6. Thanks for posting this, Groove! We all know that the Moench / Gulacy Master Of Kung Fu is one of THE greatest strips of the Bronze Age... but I'd just like to mention the wonderful work of "Dapper" Dan Adkins. I really think Adkins was the best inker for Gulacy. He added a sensuality and a film noir feel that other fine inkers such as Pablo Marcos couldn't quite match. Beautiful stuff!

  7. More James Bond than the actual James Bond story they did years later. Wonderful stuff. Have you ever posted the Alan Weiss Shang-Chi story?

  10. It's always good to reread classic stories from the Bronze Age and confirm all over again how great they are. Paul Gulacy lives in Portland now so I get to see him frequently at area conventions. He's a really nice guy.
