What's up, Groove-ophiles! Can you believe Ol' Groove has yet nearly a year slip away since the last George Perez/Avengers Making a Splash post? Where does the time go? (I know, slippin', slippin', slippin' into the future...) Anywho, here's round two of the Pace Setter's Mighty Avengers splashes (Avengers #'s 154-155, 160-162, 167-168, 170-171--minus the Annuals--Ol' Groove has other plans for those!).
Hopefully, I won't let another year slip, slip, slip away before round three!

As for the rest of ya, the purpose of this blog is to (re)introduce you to the great comics of the 1970s. If you like what you see, do what I do--go to a comics shop, bookstore, e-Bay or whatever and BUY YOUR OWN!

Loved Perez Avengers! Especially his Capt.A, Ironman, the Beast & Wonderman! His White Tiger was pretty awesome as well.
ReplyDeleteHey, Groove:
ReplyDeleteTwo things that come to mind looking at these splashes: 1. Where's the patented Pérez rubble. (There's only a little bit to be seen, in the Doom splash!) 2. Pablo Marcos was an underrated inker. He really paired well with Pérez, didn't he?
Cheers,
Andrew Wahl

Loved Perez, and agree about Pablo Marcos being underrated. He was one of the best inkers going in his day.
