The Boys from Derby: "The Sentry" by Pat Boyette

Hey, hey, hey, Groove-ophiles! Are you ready for some high-flying, high-adventure horror hi-jinks? Then you came to the right place! Pat Boyette's "The Sentry" was originally published in the debut ish of Charlton's Beyond the Grave (April 1975), and Ol' Groove is sure you're gonna dig it...

  1. always great to see Boyette art! I believe that's a pasted in pic of Mortimer Tishen by Nieto in the first panel!

  2. Not a bad little post-code story, leaves a bit of wiggle room at the end (did the gun just go off, or did the ghost do it) because the actual ghost voice is explained away by them both being spirits.

I do like how Boyette removed the backgrounds whenever an action sequence took place. It really draws the eyes in with the bright colors.

  3. Great Pat Boyette art. Thanks for posting this.
