The Grooviest Covers of All Time: Awesome Origin Issues!

What it is, Groove-ophiles! For today's cornucopia of covers, Ol' Groove thought we'd look back at covers that came on those "special" origin issues--you know, those issues that added more details to the mythos of our already archtypical origin tales! Those types of covers always seemed to give the cover artist(s) free reign to draw a poster-style cover filled with either flashback images, friends and foes, or both! Here are some of Ol' Groove's personal faves from the Groovy Age...

  1. That Justice Society book is a blockbuster, one of the best comics all time! Love it and the cover is an absolute smash!

    Rip Off

    1. It's by Neal Adams. How could it be anything but great?

  2. As a big JSA fan, this ranks high on my list of favorite covers and stories! (post-Golen Age, naturally)

As for the rest of ya, the purpose of this blog is to (re)introduce you to the great comics of the 1970s. If you like what you see, do what I do--go to a comics shop, bookstore, e-Bay or whatever and BUY YOUR OWN!
