Marvel-ous Mondays: "Confrontation!" by Wolfman, Kane, and the Tribe

Greetings, Groove-ophiles! Due to Monday's post on the passing of Rich Buckler, Ol' Groove's moved our regular Monday post to Friday just this once. Thanks for your kind indulgence.

Here's the finale to Marv Wolfman and Gil Kane's "Air Pirates of Mars" saga from Marvel's John Carter Warlord of Mars #10 (December 1977). This one's inked by The Tribe, btw, but Kane's pencils shine and the inks are pretty consistent throughout. And dig Kane's inks on the cover!

Marvel-ous Monday: "Armageddon...At Last!" by Wolfman, Kane, and Nebres

Greetings, Groove-ophiles! "Armageddon...At Last!" (from Warlord of Mars #9, November 1977) is the penultimate chapter in Marv Wolfman, Gil Kane, and Rudy Nebres' "Air Pirates of Mars" saga. As the cover promises, this ish (as were most issues of Warlord of Mars) is filled nearly to the brim with action and excitement. Of course, there is more intrigue and tragedy to go along with the rapid-paced proceedings--but what else would a Marvelite expect? 

Marvel-ous Mondays: "Flesh May Wither...and Stone May Crumble!" by Wolfman, Kane, and Nebres

Greetings, Groove-ophiles! Here's Chapter 8 of Marv Wolfman and Gil Kane's "Air Pirates of Mars" storyline from John Carter Warlord of Mars #8 (October 1977). "Flesh May Wither...and Stone May Crumble!" is our star-crossed planetary romance issue, starting with some frolicking fun and action with John Carter and Dejah Thoris, and ending with the tragedy of supporting characters Kantos Kan and Lyssia. More meaty action, including a cool and creepy basilisk-type monster is layered in there, too. And the inks, natch, are by Rudy Nebres. Enjoy!
