Ya know, Groove-ophiles, for a short time in 1971, John Romita was reunited with a character he'd drawn back in the mid-1950s: Captain America. The Jazzy One's style had changed quite a bit, and the times had certainly changed, but Cap and Romita still made a great fit. Ol' Groove should also mention that Romita's take on Cap made for a nice bridge from the Gene Colan era to the long-running Sal Buscema era of CA&F (and a few issues had dynamite inks by Joe Sinnott, to boot). Just dig these splashes from Captain America and the Falcon issues 138-144 (March-September 1971) and see for yourself!

Our Pal Sal: "The Woman Who Never Was!" by Claremont, Buscema, and Leialoha
Greetings, Groove-ophiles! Today we're gonna take a look at the grand finale of Marvel Team-Up's Spider-Man/Black Widow/Shang-Chi/Nick Fury epic! Not only do we have a great story by Chris (X-Men!) Claremont to wrap things up, but we get one more lingering look at one of Our Pal Sal Buscema teaming with one of his absolute best artistic partners, Steve Leialoha. You guys really seem to have dug this MTU epic, so let's send it off with a bang! From MTU #85 (June 1979), here's "The Woman Who Never Was!"

Our Pal Sal: "Slaughter on 10th Avenue!" by Claremont, S. Buscema, and Leialoha
Dig it, Groove-ophiles! We're back with the second smash installment of Chris Claremont, Sal Buscema, and Steve Leialoha's Marvel Team-Up masterpiece featuring Spider-Man, Black Widow, Nick Fury--and more to come! This time we're gonna check out MTU #83 (April 1979). "Slaughter on 10th Avenue!" brings Nick Fury into the fold, gives us the low-down on the whole Nancy Rushman/Black Widow identity thing, and even adds the Silver Samurai and Boomerang to the mix! Plus, we learn who's behind the whole schmeer...but Ol' Groove'll let you learn that secret for yourself if you've never had the pleasure of reading this beauty before! Onward!
