Metal Mondays: "The Hand That Shocks the Cradle Rules the World!" by Pasko and Staton

Greetings, Groove-ophiles! Metal Monday is back is back with the conclusion to the Metal Men/Dr. Strangeglove mini-epic from Metal Men #53 (May 1977). This time our mad scientist unleashes his Brain Children on Doc Magnus and company in all their weird, wacky glory! Only Martin Pasko and Joe Staton would dare tell the tale of..."The Hand That Shocks the Cradle Rules the World!"

  1. I've often wondered what editorial decision went into having a different cover artist on a title from that of the one doing the interiors of the book. In this case it was Jim Aparo for Joe Staton's run of the Metal Men. Another example is Bob Brown doing the covers for Doom Patrol instead of Bruno Premiani. Was it just that the cover artist lived near NYC and could be in person for a cover conference with the editor? I would have much preferred to see Joe Staton's covers on the Metal Men since he'd already proven his capability for years as a Charlton cover artist.
