Black and White Wednesday: "The Tiara of Dagon!" by Jacobson and Maroto

Dig it, Groove-ophiles! Here's one of those spooky "bad guy gets his just desserts" type tales that the folks at Warren always did so well. From Vampirella #36 (July 1974), here's "The Tiara of Dagon!" written by John Jacobson and beautifully illustrated by Esteban Moroto!

  1. Maroto was huge levels above the other Spanish artists Warren was using around this period. Sharing some of the attributes of rendering with the Filipino artists prevalent at the time, he brought a fragile beauty to everything he drew. His women were exquisitely alluring. He was a natural for the black and white Conan mag that came out around this time. Too bad he didn't do more work for Marvel.
