Dig it, Groove-ophiles! Joe Simon! Jack Kirby! The Guardian! The Newsboy Legion! Groovy Age Gold from Jimmy Olsen #142 (August 1971), reprinting Joe Simon and Jack Kirby's "Last Mile Alley" from Star Spangled Comics #8 (March 1942)! Dy-no-MITE!

  1. I really enjoyed that Groove, thanks for posting. With all the brilliance of Kirby's silver and bronze age work, it's easy to forget what an accomplished story telling team he and Simon were, right back in the golden age.

  4. Golden Age Kirby couldn't compete with Silver Age Kirby IMHO. But there is still a grace and beauty in the artwork that, combined with Joe Simon's slick storylines, makes for pleasant reading.
